Last bit of candy just finished in time for this weekends Australian Knifemakers Guild Show. Takefu VG10 core san mai blade, double hollow ground and with a full tapered tang. 416 bolsters engraved by Danae Cresswell. Absolutely stunning. The details are outstanding.

That's a fantastic fighter. The san mai layering and the grinds are just perfect.

Engraving on bolsters=great. Then again all your fighters are beautiful works of art. Thanks for posting / sharing your passion with us.

it's always a pleasure to check out your work, Peter

Sweet! Makes one want to hold it. The knife is truly an integrated artwork. How did you two collaborate to get such an appropriate engraving?

Thank you everyone for your very generous comments. This has become a regular and very popular pattern for me.

Regarding the engraving, half the time I trust Danae to come up with something cool. She will email me a sketch or two for me to choose from and we go from there. In this case I picked an image from the many I collect and sent it to her. After a quick phone call Danae then tweeked the design to fit the bolster shape and emailed it to me for approval. Job done.
