Serrated Delica model choices?

I've been looking around the few dealers I have used before and am only seeing fully serrated Delicas in vg10 and black handles. I thought they used to make the zdp version in fully serrated, did they stop producing them? can you find other colors in vg10 serrated edges?

The only ones I can think of off the top my head are black, foliage green and the British racing green. I do believe the fully serrated BRG version is discontinued. You could also get the fully serrated salt and that would basically be a Delica 3.

Yes, they used to make a ZDP SE Delica. I have a Pair of their big brothers. Nice knives, but I think most people realized that VG-10 does just as well at a much more attractive price in SE.

I've had, and used my ZDP-189 SE BRG Delica for a couple years. It still has a great edge on those teeth and I don't foresee it needing sharpened anytime soon.

Hmm thanks. are all the serrated models saber ground?

I've definitely thought about the salt, I'd prefer vg10 and the more pointy tip, but I like the linerless weight advantage of the salt. also like the bigger hole.

I'm the guy who goes swimming with carbon steel knives and never has rust issues, so the "rust proof" part of the salt isn't too enticing.

All the serrated delica and salt series are saber grind. The tips of the D4 and salt are the same. If the rustproof nature of the salt doesn't do for you how about better edge retention?

better edge retention is always fine with me, I'm guessing vg10 should be better there but I've heard so much hyperbole about h1's work hardening properties that I'm not sure. most of the talk I've read just sounds like hearsay to me, I know plain edge will have worse edge holding than vg10, but then people speak as if it turns to adamantium with the addition of serrations lol.

I thought the tip was more blunted on the salt 1 compared to the d4?

I've been wanting to try full serrations for awhile, and I think my needs are winding down to smaller sized knives (I normally carry a sprint military), and my Delica knowledge is low.

tbh a gray or blue Delica, fully serrated would be tops for me, but I'd have to buy two to swap blades. I'm not against black, but I'm looking to mix it up a bit. if I did black I'd probably go salt for the weight savings. I've also thought about a zdp black Delica, and a brg serrated vg10 swap... haha

Serrated H1 will hold it's edge longer than any other steel Spyderco currently uses.

Don't listen to this guy

lol thanks for the pic...

I think I've made the choice even harder for myself now. I've become enamored with the idea of the black blade in one of the colored handles. If they offered the black blade in SE I think it would be no contest, the combo edge drops it down a bit but isn't a deal breaker.

One of the more appealing combos to me right now would be the BRG Delica with the black blade/lockbar, then I'd have a black delica with the ZDP blade. That leaves me with two desirable models. Though this is a pricier choice...

Though I think the black blade would "pop" a little more on a gray, blue, or orange Delica. However that would leave the leftover model being a plain jane black/plain edge vg10...

My goal is to kind of mix my carry up a bit. Pretty much all my Spydies are just black g10 or black frn, and all plain edge. I want something a little "fun" to kick the M4 Millie out of my pocket (good luck), or just to use as a backup blade...

Anything currently that they make in a serrated version. There are currently no serrated versions of those steels but it does outperform ZDP 189.

I'm not exactly sure if the CATRA test relates to serrated and plain edge the same but serrated H1 preformance is certainly a combination of both.
