ive never been a big fan of serrated edges but i recently got a fully serrated hawkbill folder. it feels pretty sharp but i was wondering what methods yall use to figure out the sharpness of a serrated edge. obviously the hair shaving test wont work (without taking some of my arm too). i have stabbed and cut it through a peice of 8oz leather just fine. so how do you guys judge the sharpness?
also what exactly makes the serrated blade so good for cutting cord? is it the ridges that cause pressure to be reapplied every few milimeters? just wondering
thanks-CB
