serrated ffg vs saber ???

I have been wanting to pick up a spydie edged folder for a little while now. My first spyderco was a serrated rescue and I miss those teeth. After searching a little I could not find any comparisons done on serrated edged spydercos with the saber grind vs ffg. Anyone have any input? Do you lose much strength with a ffg? Will the likely thinner edge of the ffg be sharper in general over the saber?

Thanks
Jeff

Serrated edges are better for ripping and cutting fibrous material -- FFG edges are better for slicing.

Serrated edges last longer before they need sharpening -- FFG edges are easier to sharpen.

I have both, and use them for the appropriate task.

I was asking for a comparrison of both configurations with a serrated edge. You can find a few spydies that are ffg with serrations but most common is the saber grind serrations. I know you will lose some strength for the slicability of the ffg. Just wondering if anyone has done any testing. I just need to buy both and figure it out for myself.

I would just like to see a FFG endura with a spidie edge.

Sure can not find one of those!

Now do you feel that the serrations on your millie are tough? What kind of stuff have you cut with it? Ever used a saber ground serrated spydie to compare against?

I do not abuse my tools, so the toughness is more than enough.

The FFG SE blade slices better than the saber SE blades because it is thinner, for instance it does not bind on cardboard like saber grinds sometimes do. Also, when slicing hard fruit like apples, it does not break the apple in the cut like saber grinds do.

One disadvantage of SE: all of them are chisel ground, so long cuts tend to wander to the right as a result.

In short, I prefer the FFG SE over saber SE. But I also prefer plain over SE...
