Hello all,
Can anyone educate me on the Howling Rat variants with ground/serrated top spines? I really like the way these guys look and I am hoping to eventually get one of each for my collection. I have no idea how many different variants (I've seen 4,5 and 6 serrations so far) and how many of each were made or when they were produced. This info has probably been discussed in past threads but I am new to the forums and have not found anything yet. I would appreciate any info on this line. Thanks to all in advance.

Just saw Gravelface's response in another thread that there are 3, 4, 5, and 6 toothed versions. Did they make the same number of each version?

i imagine like most custom shop offerings, unless they were numbered individually, you will have a difficult time finding out just how many were produced.

they dont normally release this type of info. and i cant think of any rats that are individually numbered.

Hi ksjumpmd,

Those variants were part of a small batch that were sold at Blade West 06 in Portland, OR. There were more sold in on the forums during this same event. I don't know how many were made, like Morimotom said, the numbers weren't released. My guess would be maybe 50 or thereabouts. It seems that the 4 and 5 serrated versions are the more common.

Good luck in your search and welcome to the addiction! :D

...and i cant think of any rats that are individually numbered.

The only ones that I can think of are the Rat Trap LE's. There were 100 of those made and numbered.

There was also a variation that had a "band breaker" spine. Looks just like the others without the notches, just a hollow ground spine.

Here are some pics of a couple. The first two pics are Ian's.
