Thinking of pulling the trigger on a lg 21 w/ serrations. Anyone have any experience/thoughts on CRK's serrations?

no experience, but the same holds true for most serrations: get them if you have a use for them, otherwise, they might get in the way later
do you have other sebbies?

I have a micarta large and I love the serrations, however, if I only had one sebbie I would get plain.:)

Yep, lg Regular '97 in BG 42. New Graham has a lg 21 ser. in stock. If I can raise the scratch in a reasonable amount of time, I'm gonna go for it.
Most of my other large folders are combo-edge, and some times serrations come in handy.

cool, you've got a nice seb already!
As I said, no experience on them, but since Chris Reeve knows his knives, you probably can't go wrong!

I have a large Micarta with serrations and I really like them. CRK cuts the serrations on each side like a V not chisel like most serrations makes for a smooth cutting transition when cutting from the plain edge to the serrated part. East to sharpen and they work well.:thumbup:;)
Many knifenuts don't like serrations and they detract from the clean lines of the blade. I must admit that I way more often than not EDC PE. My large Micarta with serrations has been sharpened and ground thin by Mr Krein the grind monkey and it slices on par with my insingo. Looks aside I like the way the serrations add a bit of a bite if I need it and serrations CRK does are best in the business. Most pocket time goes to the PE for me.

A lot of people are anti-serrations, however, my pops was a lineman and cut something every day and he loved serrations. That alone makes me wonder the postive attributes of serrations.

I would just get a dedicated serrated back up knife. My Sebenza gets the most use, but if there's something rougher I can just use my fully serrated Delica for that and not worry about damage.

I carry my Sm. serrated 21 on a fairly regular basis and like it alot.

It's very useful for sawing applications and hasn't chipped like my other serrated
blades under hard use, this one has a less aggressive cut that's more durable and easier
to sharpen.

I hate serrations, but there are those that love them. They do have their place, but not for an edc in my opinion.
