i've NEVER been a fan of serrations. i've owned (maybe) one knife that had them, but the other day i was shooting pool with a buddy and we both had to rough up the tip of our cues. his knife had serrations, WOW what a difference they make :) they made such a huge difference, i'm feeling like a need atleast one knife with a combo edge.

what are the things you've found you actually use serrations for? for me, this is the ONLY one.

Serrations are far superior, in my opinion, for cutting rope (especially if it is wet), the nylon strapping that comes on a lot of heavy cardboard boxes with heavy items in them, and those ratcheting nylon/plastic cable ties. Really a no contest even next to an absolutely razor sharp non-serrated edge in terms of cutting those materials. I cut a lot of that stuff so it is very important to me.

Plain edge is superior in slicing, but serrations are superior in cutting tough materials like rope and nylon. Neither are going to be good for everything. That's why I carry a plain edge Sebenza and a fully serrated Tenacious everyday.

I have several se. theyre better at cutting a wide variety if things....so

much easier. I would not get a combo edge thou....too short of a plain

edge with and the same goes for the serrated area. I carry a large pb and a

se dfly. the best of both worlds.
