Serrations on seal knife 2000

serrations on seal knife 2000

I was playing with my seal knife and saw a similarity to the spyderco serration pattern so I whipped out my spyderco and lo and behold they are the exact same pattern.

what is that pattern called and is it trademarked or can nayone use it ? Just curious.... I love the pattern because it is easy to sharpen.

The serrations are quite nice! I don't know if they have a specific name and I'm fairly certain they are not trademarked.

I also just looked at my Seal 2000 and my serrated Spyderco (Massad) Ayoob, and the serrations are pretty much the same, except that the wide serrations of the SOG look to be just alittle wider than those on my Spyderco. One nice thing about them being so much alike is that the Lansky sharpener that is made to specifically sharpen Spyderco serrations will also work well on the SOG serrations..
