Any of you have experience with a Sebenza 21 with serrations? I am seeing a good deal on a small 21 micarta with serrations, and I am thinking of getting it, but I am not sure about the serrations. Any opinions would be great, thank you!

If it is from the same place I am thinking of, I saw that one too. Awesome deal. Too bad they don't have a large with straight edge or I'd be all over it.

They are great. There are some recent threads here on CRK serrations that may be helpful.

Thank you. I typed in a search on google and nothing showed up from BF. But I'll try and dig them up on here.

I read somewhere here on BF that CRK serrations are very good, unlike any other serrations by anyone else.

I love my serrated, micarta-inlaid 21. It's been used constantly over the last few months and is my favorite folder.

CRK's serrations are unique because the cutting edge is sharpened on both sides so it doesn't end up like a chisel grind at the edge. This allows the knife to be sharpened on a flat stone as if it were a full plain edge, and it makes the knife cut straight (instead of at an angle like a chisel edge).

After using CRK's S35VN, it seems to dull quickly compared to other supersteel knives I own. The serrations allow the knife to cut effectively long after the plain edge has dulled. The other day my knife needed a sharpening badly, and I had some zip ties that I needed to remove but had to be very careful not to damage what was underneath. I was able to saw, very gently, through the ties with my 'dull' knife thanks to the serrations.

I can't think of a better working knife than a serrated 21. Here's mine:

I think that is the nicest serrated folder I've seen. I can see why you like it so much!

I recently got a Lg serrated 21 and I haven't taken it out of my pocket. It's an awesome knife! The serrations are great and do not get in the way

Ditto on love the CRK serrations, have a few, and they are great!

I can't stand serrations, but it seems chris reeve understands many people don't like it either and managed to find a way to make serrations work on this knife.

This thread is making me reconsider a serrated sebenza...

My newest addition! I'll try and get some better pics later. (Thanks Lone Wolf and BF Exchange!) This is my first serrated CRK. Although I haven't used it yet, I can see it being very handy. I really like how CRK has done the serration. Trying to decide if I want to send it in for double lugs / all silver hardware.

This blade is the S30v steel, which has an almost "dowdy" appearance about it - I don't know why, but I really like the look, maybe even more than the "flashier" S35VN.

I was about to hit submit and just noticed the blue of the lug reflecting off of the desk.....I guess I'm easily amused.

The serrations for me was a no go. When ever I went to cut something with the plain edge portion of the blade it just seemed like the serrations always got in the way. But if you were to get a serrated knife CRK's serrations are the best because they are sharpened on both sides. They are not as aggressive as say Spydercos but they work plenty well on things like rope and zip ties.
