The serration on the back edge close to the handle, I've seen this on a lot of knives, especially folders. Just decoration or do they fill a purpose?

Hi Johan,

I think these ´serrations´ are meant to give your thumb some extra grip when cutting. It´s a sort of ´thumb ramp´ as you see on some fixed blades. The grooves on this model seem pretty sharp and might be uncomfortable when using the knife for an extended periode of time. But this is just based on the looks since I´ve never handled this knife... on some knives these grooves are just too sharp in my personal opinion.

Regards,

Serge.

Thank you, that was an interesting thought. I'm sure that's what it is.;)
