Anybody have a favourite serration style that 'works'??

For info - I am wanting to know views on those styles such as:

1) 'split' raker teeth (as per LILE rambo etc)
2) single raker (Gerber LMF)
3) ...or the many variations of the 'staggered' type etc.

May sound like a silly question, but am looking at the majority view to help with a design.

Cheers

Guy

Back in my old warehouse days, I cut a ton of cardboard with a Spyderco.

The best serrations I've seen are the ones designed by Kit Carson like on the Outdoor Edge Magna and the Buck Intrepid. The serrations don't snag or tear, they actually produce clean cuts.

I have found that the Cold Steel serrations work very well on fibrous material that has a lot of "give" to it.

I have a compost heap, and am constantly cutting up old dead plants, and this pattern chews them up really well.

This may or may not help you. Good luck in your search. BTW, the only full serrated knife I really like are the spyderco. On my really hard use folder I picked the M2 stryker with partial serrations. They really make a difference on some materials. For example that plastic ski rope. Hard to cut with a plain edge, but cuts great with serrations. Plain VS. Serrated

The first knife was probably used to cut stuff.
