Serrations?

a customer wants a set of serrated steak knives...
is it possible to do serrations and make them look good without a mill??
and without 50 feet of practice using a chainsaw file??

Michael, I took a tour of Benchmade about a year ago. I was surprized to see what was used to put the serrations on with. They had a cut stone wheel that did all the serrations in a matter seconds. I think it was a couple feet in diameter by maybe 1 1/2" thick.

There are companies that will put serrations on a knife for you. There was one in DC that would do it (back when I lived in MD). I'm sure there's somebody within an hours drive able to do it in your area. Start checking the yellow pages...
