Not sure if this is interesting to you guys since it has ZERO knife content, but here's an article of mine that was recently published in Serviam Magazine. Next month there will be a piece I wrote about privatizing border security. Serviam is not well known among the populace but is gaining a lot of ground among the security contracting / military and international threat assessment industries. Good magazine and I hear it's read among some of those in Congress.

Gettin alot of attention among of the contract security crowd for sure, I've seen it pop up before. Not so much among the Police circle yet, least not local that I know of.

If it gets Fed attention though Jeff, Hell, throw something good at'em. Most politicians I've met I only got a chance to offend once. After that they close their eyes / ears..go LA LA LA LA and you *poof* disapear (least as far as calls, meetings, public greetings, or acknowledgement across the stage at the strip club). So make it a good one from the start :D

Good read Jeff. I remember some of those pictures from the article in S.W.AT. on the Shining Path.

It's a good magazine.

I'm not trying to piss on the shoes of politicians. I suppose I'm a little different than most folks - while I believe that some politicians are the major problem in this country, I also believe that some of them can be "brought around" with proper education on an issue. I've seen it happen before.

Just read it. Wasnt that the article posted in SWAT?

The whole dynamic amazes me...baffles me really. "we are going to grow a crop that feeds world drug trade and crime, If you wont let us.. Then support us".
I couldnt imagine the nightmare the Cops must face there on a daily basis.

Yep, a few changes were made but this was basically the same article in SWAT. The border security article is an exclusive for Serviam. Interesting piece with a lot of recent facts.

Beroya, Policing in SA is totally different than policing here. For example, when I tried to go to Monzon and got met (blocked) with armed Cocaleros blocking the road, the cops would do nothing. I asked why. They replied, if we did anything then we would get in trouble for violating their civil rights. These armed cocaleros were blocking a major road!!!! In the U.S. we would have cuffed them and had them in a cell before they could hardly say anything. On the other hand, I've seen the cops flat nail a guy through the chest with an AK round for having a broken POS .38 revolver and trying to hold up some folks on the road. They didn't ask questions or ask him to drop the weapon, they just shot the shit out of him and then shot his partner in the leg and he fell off the side of a hill. They dragged his ass back up all bloody, threw him in the back of a pickup truck and hauled his butt to jail. Justice.

I am a firm advocate of the "Self-Correcting Error". Flaunt gun, try to steal, get shot! Self correcting error
