One of the two knives I rotate as my primary EDC is a BG4 small regular Sebenza I purchased new in 2000. It has been EDC'ed approximately 95 percent of the time since its purchase.

In addition to it's regular EDC duties, the Sebbie gets used constantly in my woodworking shop for what ever needs to be cut. I keep it extremely sharp for use with the woodworking duties.

Every 2-3 years I send the knife back to CRK for a checkup and sharpening. This year the good folks at the factory found a problem with the locking bar. Heather called me last week to advise the locking bar would be re-heat treated and the handles refinished, all at no charge.

I had not noticed a problem with the locking bar and had not mentioned anything of this nature in my letter to CRK.

I received my beloved Sebbie yesterday and he is already back at work in the shop as you can see below. He's as good as new and posing on the drill press complete with freshly finished handles, a repaired locking bar, and a new lanyard.

THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is why we buy CRK knives.

Wow, that's great, and at no charge that's amazing. I hope I never have to ship my sebenza off, but at least now I know if I do, it will be well taken care of.

congrats on the refurb. crk's customer service is top notch. they have always surpassed my expectations.

That happenned to me once with a small seb. CRK actually replaced the knife with a new one! I sent it in just to rehab the slabs and blade.

The was the third time this knife had been sent back for sharpening.

The first time, I mentioned in my letter I was having trouble keeping it sharp. On that occasion, Mr. Reeve personally inspected the knife and decided the original blade was not up to his expectations. He replaced the blade under warranty and refinished the handles.

Gotta love Mr. and Mrs. Reeve and their staff.

Cheers,
dan :)
