Service to strip coating from Becker knives?

Hi all,

I have a few Becker knives that I'd like to have the coating stripped from.

Is anyone aware of a service that will strip the coating for me? Somewhere I could send the knives to for stripping?

Simply slide a $20 under the choil and watch the stripping begin!

I stripped a couple of Beckers using ordinary paint stripper. It really is straightforward, in all honesty.

Alternatively I would imagine an Auto Body Shop with a Sand/Media Blaster would do it as well. But it'll require re-sharpening.

Stripping them is a simple DIY job, unless you want additional finish work done after the coating is gone.

Yes, very easy. Paint stripper from the hardware store. Sand the finish down to a level you want. Not difficult at all. I'd imagine a service with shipping and insurance might cost as much as half or more of the knife.

You'd probably get some better answers over in the Becker subforum.... Like others have said, paint stripper or sandblaster will do the job great!

You can really go to town with Beckers...

Or you can even sandblast

I used Jasco stripper with great results. Super easy.
