Servicing a Damascus sword

Hi all,

I’ve just bought my first sword it’s a collectible Turkish Damascus sword, and I understand it needs oiling a few times a month. Would Materialix Food Grade Mineral Oil - Tasteless and odourless, no additives, be a suitable to keep it in good condition??

I doubt mineral oil would hurt, but you may want actual advice from someone with actual experience like horseclover .

Unless you're using it or perhaps live in a seaside bungalow with the windows open all the time, I'm not sure why you'd need to oil it that frequently. A little bit of oil would go a long way for quite some time if it is just being stored.
