Set for the Wife

I built this set of chefs knives for her. Lord know she has put up with a ton of knifemaking crap

A 4.5" blade and 7.5" blade handled in green canvas micarta w/red spacers
Crucible 154 cm 1/8" stock HT at Jasons shop
Right hand chisel grind
very thin edge very very sharp

I plan to start excepting orders after the first of the year, I am sending a set to my mom and hopefully my father can come up with a really cool block ( he has a great wood shop and loves to do stuff like this )

That IS a fantastic Christmas present!! I too would LOVE a set like that!
 
I hope your wife appreciates them.

Why is it, when I buy kitchen knives, my wife never really thinks that they are presents for her.

"But honey, that's a custom!"

"And that one is damascus coated VG-10!"

"And this one here is Hitachi White steel...."

nothing works.

Well, they really like the jewelry. However even if she's not as appreciative on Xmas morning when she un-wraps them, she will become more and more appreciative every time she uses them throughout the year.

In addition, it would have been much easier for you to go to the mall to buy something, than to make that great set. So that's worth a lot in itself.
