Setting Default Browser -

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to set IE to NOT default browser? In other words I do not want IE as the default.

Install another browser, such as Mozilla http://www.mozilla.org , or Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
Then when you start up the new browser you should get a popup window asking if you want to make it your default browser ....and choose 'YES'. The next time IE gets started, it will ask if you want it to become the default ...choose 'NO'.

Or 'manually':

Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs and enable or disable the option:
"Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser"
Close IE and open again. Click YES or NO if you are prompted to set it as default browser.

NOTE: For Windows 2000/XP Login as Administrator and try the above steps.
