Im getting my act together and setting up my own workshop. Khukuri Monster is going back to school, so the free ride (KMG grinder with rotary platen
) is over.
I have a nice big barn, with a bathroom, mini fridge, couch and TV. Its heated by a wood burning furnace, which incidently is a nice source of charcoal. Its the place where my father and I go to get away from the ladies
.
Im ordering a Grizzly G1015 knifemaking grinder, which has a buffing wheel. Ill also order enough barstock, belts, and handle material to last me through the winter. I already have a royobi 4x36 deal, which has limited use, a wheel grinder and a big shop vac. I will either make a nice charcoal forge for heat treating or a fancy propane dealie. Im leaning towards charcoal.
My dad likes to do woodworking, so he has all of his tools in there. Between us we make alot of dust and he wants to get a collection system. We can both work in there and not disturb eachother. He makes some nice furniture, and we always get into arguments. He says that his work will get more use than mine, but I say that metal is a MUCH more challenging medium to work with
.
This will kill all of the spending money from my summer job that hasnt already been frittered away. But hell, this will keep me from getting depressed this winter, and when I crawl out of there this Spring, ill try to post pictures of some of the junk I made.
