Several Sage Ti pictures

I carried my Sage 2 all weekend long. I have to say, the Sage 2 is such a well built knife! The refinement is approaching custom quality in every aspect; function, fit and finish. I know the Ti scales will start to show some character in due time. Ti always does. But handling and carrying this knife, you just know it's good for many, many years of service. The lockup is as solid as it could possibly be. The knife sounds like you racked a 1911 when the lockbar engages and the lockup is very early. If Spyderco offered a Spa treatment like CRK they'd possibly put a dent on some semi-custom knife business with a Ti offering like this. No disrespect to CRK whatsoever. I know CRK's level of quality and refinement is the benchmark but dayum, the Sage 2 is one hell of a Ti scaled knife for a very approachable price. I'm loving this knife. The overall parameters, typical Spyderco ergos, carriability, build quality and functionailty are world class. Get one if you can. These pictures were taken from my desk at work this morning.

Nice pics Reeek!

Do you have any pics of it next to a familiar model or a coin(or in hand)?Trying to get an idea of the specs.

Thanks

Sorry, JTR357 :) I got delayed with the second group of pictures ;) Does the comparison next to the Mini Grip work for you?

thanks for posting those wonderful pic's. After seeing that knife i am really interested. The handle is beautiful and probably could justify buying one of those instead of the very expensive Sebenza.

Was gonna reply with simply...Beautiful.

But E beat me to it.:D

Will certainly get one of those...

Sal and others,

A major key to Spyderco's success with many of your/their knives and certainly huge on this Sage 2 is the awesome Spyderco finger choil application. That feature, along with the world class materials and F&F is what can potentiall set this knife apart from it's more expensize competition.

The handle is long enough to use without the finger choil, unlike the Mini Grip in the comparison photos but when your hand gravitates to that finger choil the competition is probably sweating a little bit ;)

Hi Reeek,

There are those that like and appreciate finer choils, but there are also those that don't care for finger choils.

I went home at lunch and brought my Para back to take some comparison pictures for contrast between the Para and Sage 2. I know everyone here is educated enough to know the construction, materials, clip layout and blade differences so I won't belabor that but it may be useful to see the Sage 2 next to the Para to compare the cockpits. I took some with the heels even and some with the tips even. On the top down shots of the blades I tried to make the stop pins were somewhat even. Enjoy:

I'm still on the edge with this one. I much prefer a 3.5 or 4" blade and don't know if I would really carry the sage. Spyderco needs to get the Ti Millie out soon before I spend my money on a Sebbie;)
