sewing sheaths

Hello everybody,
I would like to ask,which thread you use for sewing sheaths (type and thickness)?

When I sew leather that is 7 to 9 oz. I use .040 poly. thread from Maine Thread Co. Ask for a thread chart which will come with samples of thickness and color.
Tiger thread of 1 mil.is real good thread but I have not tried it.

Just can you tell me please how many millimeter thread it is? (+/- thickness)
~0.5mm/~0.75mm/~1mm/~1.5mm/~2mm

.040 inch = 1.016 mm
1mm = .0393 inch
