This one is styled after a traditional Viking short sword, the Seax.

I just started it last night, check it out! I'm doing a big order run and this one is just for fun, I have always wanted to make one. It will be DFK style of course. I'm considering some black/tan/green canvas micarta for it... maybe something black, not sure yet.

.315 S7 steel! lots of it

Subscribed! Can't wait to see where this goes. :)

Thanks!

Subscribed as well :)

Much appreciated!

I'm going dark on this one, just not sure how far. Satin finish, black G10 or this new camo micarta is likely is likely but I could take it far with a cool patina/etch and other gnarl!

I'm waiting on another big chunk of S7 to grind and then this one will be back on again, I need a few more in my S7 batch.

That's gonna be mean. on Thrones last season one of the Wildlings, big dude had a sweed blade that shape. More of a short sword, but i like the blade shape definitely. probably won't be a tomato slicer, but good clever for sure : ) Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks... I want to check out that show too, sounds good.

Good idea on the cleaver too, I could see this one being practical for processing meats and it would be the coolest knife in the kitchen. It makes me almost want to be a chef again just so I could rock it at work, lmao! This one will be nice for firewood too, I think I'll gear it in that direction edge wise.

Any updates on this? Or the A2 tantos? I need to see me some big knives! :D

I'll have some soon, I have been waiting on heat treat ss wrap and some special scales which both just came in.

I have been really busy working on the shop and my place getting ready for winter. We get 14 feet of snow here on average so I always have to get prepared. I'm close to being done soon though! I'll have a contractor out next week as we have to do some more work to the shop to pass inspection... once that is over with it is on!

Haha, that sounds like here! The county people are happy to grade everyones driveways near election time but the highways are falling apart. I have a friend in Conifer near Denver and he says they are already getting snow  Stay warm!
