Making leather sheaths is fun and this is my latest creation and it’s for my EDC- a .270" Fatty GW.

I am a leather newbie, so improvements can for sure be done- but I am very happy with this one since it’s my most comfortable high carry sheath!

Keeps the knife at a convenient 45 degrees angle and can be carried on the sides, in front or behind my back. The leather has a very secure grip on the knife.

That was my last pieces of leather, but I am waiting for more to arrive. Then I will make one more of this design- but in black color.

Oh man...that's effin' awesome. I love the pancake-style design. Very nice work, Boar-Gin.

Really like that design, you should get a pic or two of you wearing it, I'd love to see it in use!

Wow! I would never have believed you for a leather "newbie!" This is fantastic work!

Very nice, I like how thin it is. :D

That is very very nice leather work there. That sheath looks great!

Nicely done!

There is really nothing like being able to make nice useful things for yourself.

Way to go

Nice job! I like the details in the stitching. Looks bomb proof!

Wow- thank you all for your feedback! Really means a lot to me as ‘leather newbie’ and with this great encouragement I just have to continue my leather explorations and improve further! Thank you all!!! :)

I will take the requested pictures once I come home this weekend and post them here.

Thanks!

P.S. If anyone is interested in making this “pancake sheath” for your own use, please let me know and I send you a CAD drawing (dfx format) of my design. If you are a ‘leather newbie’ as me, I can also give you instructions on the steps I took in order to make this one.

Here are the requested pictures. First a picture on my .270” Fatty GWs. One user and one safe queen (so far). Sorry for the quality!

Then a close up picture on the sheath mounted behind my back.

The handle has a perfect angle for easy grabbing of the knife.
