Well I've been tearing my hair out on goloks, custom oyster knives and EDKs..... so I just knocked this one out for fun. I call it the SFC, that was my rank in the Army and I figure Sheeple Friendly Cutlery is a pretty good description of the knife. 90% of you are going to hate it, no damascus, no complicated 987098 piece handles, no titanium bejeweled actions, NO PELICAN CASE!!!! no giraffe bone or mokumegame. :(

If you've hung around here are the specs:
1084, 3x tempered
2 7/8" overall
1 1/16" cutting edge 400x machine finish
3/32" spine
Stabilized redwood burl with copper mosaic and thong tube.

It's a prototype so yeah, there's some refining that could be done. The SFC has been fairly useful on my keychain. We're not allowed knives at work but my manager said this was cute and I could keep it on my keychain since it's not a "weapon". :barf:

As always I have my nomex and kevlar :p on so feel free to comment. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Sorry Will. We both will suffer, but don't worry it's a good cause:D:thumbup:.

If 90% of the people who see this hate it, I'm out of here. What's to hate?
It's cute as a bug!

I like it. It is a great little knife! I bet you WILL sell a whole lot of those.

will-i like small knives just as much as big knives-i actually have a knife like this by a maker-i HATE IT!.....i really have found with a knife that small that a wharncliffe shape is much more useful.....easier to sharpen and more useful amount of blade.....just my thoughts on it.....ryan

ohh i forgot to addd-your blade has less belly than mine does by another maker-but i still would like it more and think it'd be more useful as a wharncliffe.....ryan

My first thought was "NOT ALLOWED KNIVES AT WORK?", but then I remembered where you work.

That is a pretty neat little blade you have there. I can see where it would come in mighty handy at times. I might have to try a couple of those.

I was almost afraid to post after being corrected so sternly in Charlie's thread. Sheesh:D

Ryan..... I actually have one ready for heat treat with a wharnie... the outline is a bit different but it's about the same overall size.

Robert, if Charlie had posted the whole story there'd be a lot of supporters drinking a big cup of STFU. But I think he's doing right by letting it die down. The people involved apparently read the thread because they mentioned on the phone not wanting to have to look over their shoulder and worry about redneck wrath. Oh yeah.... knives at work, you have to have permission to have one and the need has to be addressed by your work duties, mainly maintenance and production control (warehouse/stock).

The thing that ticked me off at work was that people were more impressed with the "scabbard" as they called it rather than the knife. I'm like "huh" confused??? They're all like 'you really made this?" and I'm like yeah but what about the knife? I dunno.....

I like it - Looks good, useful & always with you when needed.

How about SFTC as a name variant? (SFTC = Sheeple Friendly TACTICAL Cutlery :)

I have had a bad taste in my mouth all day. I have the urge to tell a certain yankee as*ho*e to "STFU", but I will restrain myself. Instead, I will suggest "Sheeple Tactical Friendly Utility.:D

"Sheeple Tactical Friendly Utility.:D

Sounds good, Robert!
How about shorter version of it: just "Friendly Utility Knife.:D

Now gentlebeings.... I have children and don't think some of these names will work with them around. They will be highly appropriate as I throw them around the shop because there's not a lot of mass to them and they heat up FAST!!!! and they're hard to find in the slump bucket :barf: :barf:
