Now I know why I like the SFNO sooooooooo much. :D
I think it is the closest relative to the SH-1.
Anyone else see the family resemblance?

I think that the SFNO took the place of the SH. The SH grew "too big" for a tactical knife and became a super utility/camping knife. The placeholder for military oriented is either the NO or the HR.

BTW:
That pair looks awesome! Is that SH-1 made of A-2

Wow! That blade bring back memories! I still remember the ads for Busse (the one with the skeleton) in the Soldier of Fortune, gun and knife magazines like it was yesterday.

Is there a chance of having the SFNO made part of the regular production again? I've been searching for one in the secondary market for a while now with no luck.

The Natural Outlaw will be making it back in the rotation "some day". When it does it may or may not be similar to the SFNO but we shall see what Jerry comes up with.

A SFNO with two sheaths just sold on ebay recently for $625:eek: I'd emailed him about it and he offered it to me for $650 plus shipping (from Canada). He'd removed the coating and one of the sheaths was left handed. I couldn't afford that, I'll wait the "two weeks";)

That tells how much this model is sought-after. And that knife, based on the description given by the seller, was heavily modified/customized.

That knife was sold to Peter not that long ago here on the forums.
Peter had a thread showing how he removed the coating.
I believe that the knife was Green with Black paper handles.

Yep - noticed the resemblance way back at Blade '03 (????) when the new line rolled out. Waited a year or so to order, and finally had a SH's younger cousin. Now all I have to do is track down a SH1 for comparison purposes.....:D
