I was looking at the pic posted of the SFNO LE and I wanted to ask i anyone has any idea why they have the Busse Custom shop logo on the blade.

.

I am not trying to be facetious or clever but maybe they were made in the custom shop. I mean that maybe, for some reason, they had to be custom made, though the why of it escapes me.

I'm just guessing, but maybe because it's a numbered limited edition (xx of 300) and to differentiate from the other numbered LE's that were only limited by the number of people that bought one. Again, just a guess.

.

Isn't everything Custom? Too bad the "X of 300" couldn't have smaller letters, those big a$$ ones are kind of detracting. Or maybe just a small serial number, everyone is going to know what they are and don't need the "300" on them, kind of like the '1 of 300" SHBMs.

I like how small the serial number is on this Mr Mofo:

:D

I agree. I asked for a sterile one and was told that it couldn't be done. They all have numbers.

I like how it is because to my knowlege this is the first time this has been done except for the 13 NMFBM's w/snakeskin.

I do like how that Mofo is #erd though:thumbup:

There are several runs of widely available knives done by the custom shop. The first one I can think of is the original Active Duty in satin/ss going back to 2002.

The question is what does custom shop mean? Could it means one man did all the work?
Or does it mean that a standard design was altered after it was cut by the CNC machine? Whatever, I like the insignia

The custom shop vs cg thing was answered in a thread awhile back, but I don't remember the answer.

As for why the CS logo on these, I have a feeling it's because this knife wasn't a planned offering, but rather something Jerry did to make us happy. I like the logo, but I agree that the number is a bit big. It's as if these knives were intended to be put on display.

The big number makes it easier to read when you're drunk or hung over. After the week long Christmas party they've had up there at Busse, they would have never managed to find the right knives and ship 'em to the right folks.

Matter of fact, #27 might have wound up going to somebody other than Jaxx!
