Well it's that time of year again. Heading up to the Sierra's for my annual Men's Retreat. 25 great guys getting together to hang out and have a good ole time!

After some long draw out thinking I have finally decided to turn my Safe Queen SFNO LE into an user. So this weekend is getting it's cherry popped! So out of respect and in it's honor I thought I would post a couple of pics of it in Safe Queen condition.

Love the pics and love the knife. I'm actually torn between this and a CG NMSFNO as my next purchase. Not sure if the shorter blade of the SFNO LE makes it more versatile or if the longer NM version is worth it for the "chopper" factor. Let us know how it performs.

Absolutely an outstanding blade, arguably one of the very best real world practical use, midsized blades to be producted. It should serve you well. I just wish it had the meltdown treatment...that would make it just about perfect. Make it a fatty too, and it probably would be perfect.

CRK makes the next best fixed blade around, especially the one-pc lineup. Of course, nothin beats INFI!:D Yep 45-70 guide gun.

I really have been trying to keep my belt fixed blades down to a reasonable size. Nothing over 6-7 inches. I've found that the ASH1 is just about perfect, which until this weekend has been my Go To camp/field carry.

This thread did it for me. Couldn't decide between this or the NM version. I kept looking at that second pic and decided I HAD to have one (thanks JohnTheTexican). Will just have to find a good NM version to compare it with. Now if everyone can just stop posting pics until my next pay comes in...

I have both the SFNO-LE and the NMSFNO CG and LE. Based on looks alone, I'd have to go with the SFNO-LE -- one of the best looking Busses ever, and maybe the best.

But ... the balance on the NMSFNO is fantastic. There's something about the feel of the NM version in hand. The longer blade length and extra weight balances very well with the relatively wide Special Forces handle. Makes for a great feeling knife. And, yes, it is more of a heavy bladed chopper than the SFNO-LE, as you'd expect.

For overall use, though, where you need a little choppin', brush clearing, and finer work, I'd probably still go with the SFNO-LE as a one-knife-only solution (it's a HEAVY duty knife, but no so long that it's limited). If I had two or three with me, I'd go with the NMSFNO, ASH-1 (LE or other), and a Boss Street -- Now we're talking! Don't own a FSH or Battle Mistress ... so I admit I have yet to experience Chopping Heaven. ;-)
