I've got a 08 SFNO that I'm trying to decide what to do with. Have tried to trade it, without much luck. Considering using, selling, trading, or keeping minty to sell later. What do you hogs think....

You could have a really, really cool giveaway. It would make you very popular, Oh, and all the cool kids are doing it.;):D:D:p

How about a passaround/raffle. X dollars for a spot, knife gets passed around to all on the list and then a raffle at the very end of the passaround to decide who keeps it. Or you could just keep it and beat the ever living crap out of it.

Market sucks right now. Use that sucker...

If you don't like it, use it as trade fodder...

I think it should go to the person with the #6 post in this thread. I'm just sayin'...

I agree with MMIAM, this is a cool idea.
If someone actually wanted to do this, would it be considered a kosher thing to do?

If you don't want to trade it, and don't really have to sell it, I'd keep it minty, and sell it later on... Or you can just use it! :D

Honestly, I really like the passaround/raffle idea.

Yes, but at $25 per head, how many folks would need to sign up and use it for you to recover your costs? Also, how long would a passaround last? If you increase the cost, you shorten the list of folks willing to play and the passaround time. Decrease the cost and your passaround may last a lot longer than you hoped for.

I understand the dynamics. I would personally go with serious folks willing to throw something like $50 or better in the pot. Shorten the list, and get people who are more inclined to be respectful to a blade that could be theirs.

I am not sure where Spark stands on this kind of activity though, so I imagine there is more research to be done. If this was to be seriously considered by GregB that is.

You could always give it to me, I guess. :D Either that, or use the heck out of it. You might learn to like it.

That's pretty much how I would do it. The passaround portion can be skipped if all involved wanted a shorter wait time or if the person raffling it wanted to reduce the fee per person and increase the # of spots. I just thought it would give some that may have never handled a SE SFNO a chance to do so. I recall a similar passaround raffle for a koster blade not too long ago (if memory servese correctly).... In any event it's Greg's blade and he calls the shots on this one but if he or anyone else did want to try this they should probably contact Spark like MMIAM suggested.

Use it....

(found out that raffles are a no-no on Blade Forums...House Rules, not Busse...)

Hmmmm. I have a semi-related thought:

Busse market has been thin for a month or more. The STOCK market has been bumpy for a bit and TERRIBLE for a week.

I wonder if Busse sales are a leading economic indicator.
