SFNOs

There are no sterile sabre SFNOs released with the newer batches?

.

None that I've seen, but I haven't seen them all so this might not be accurate.

It seems to me with the ones I've seen in pix & in person that the grind line on the original run sabre ground SFNO's are a little higher than the newer ones. Again, I haven't seen them all so this also might be not accurate.

Check the countersink around the talon hole and lanyard holes. The originals appear almost hexagonal versus smooth and circular.

That's been my experience.

The logo?

On which side :)

My saber SFNO has it on the right side - not the usual left. Looking at it from above - blade pointing out.

Let's see...

The pattern cut into the micarta handles is different, this is really noticeable on the Mags. The holes for the hollow tube fasteners are more countersunk on the originals. Originals only came with micarta slabs. Off the top of my head....I guess that's about it.

I haven't seen that many around. I did get a coated camo one from Knob Creek but they changed the colors so you know it was not a normal production knife. I also have seen variants that have completely different grinds on them so everyone knows that is not an original production.
If they were to re-produce an oder version of a out of production knife, they change up handles and blade colors so everyone knows it was from a show or Ganza.

i'm not certain, but i believe i remember somebody saying something about the new ones having slightly taller blades overall

I just pulled out an original and placed it side by side with an LE on their spines and the original does appear to be just a little less in blade width. I can't find my tape measure at the moment, but mebbe by 1/16 of an inch or a little more...?

You need to sharpen them old ones more to make 'em match.
