Sportsman's Guide has an old fashioned knife, they claim as a German Navy Knife. It is stamped Bund Donges and a serial number. They claim it is still used by the German Navy. I like it because it reminds me of a simple backwoodsman knife. 4 7/8" spey blade with a wooden handle held with 3 rivets.
While it has a German flag next to it, I fear Chinese knock-off. There is no mention of steel.
Anybody know about these? I've been burned by SG before, ordered 70's Romanian 8mm for $90 a case was sent 50's mfg that was on the market for $20-$30 less :grumpy: .
I am plaining on getting a few things, mess kits, rope, the normal stuff and shipping is killer so I like to get the most for my order. This knife is $29.99.
Thanks,
tjg
