My first Blur arrived today and it is the SG2 limited edition model. What a beauty! The fit and finish is fantastic, with perfect centering of the blade and rock solid lockup. The right edge of the liner-lock goes to the halfway point on the tang - just where I like to see it.

The SG2 Blur is now officially the most comfortable folder I have ever used. The Blur fits my hand perfectly and the Trac-Tec inserts provide just the right amount of grip. The grip is not as 'grabby' as G-10, but is well up there with the best of them. The inserts are perfectly fitted to the handle, with no gaps or flaws of any kind. One thing that I must point out, is that pictures do not do justice to the brown anodizing on the aluminum handle. The colour is a rich, satin finished, deep 'bronzy' brown that sort of glows with reflected light. Alas, you just have to see it in person to appreciate the finish. The black oxide coated pocket clip, has an aluminum pad under it to facilitate easer withdrawal from the pocket. The clip tension was just right.

The blade has a laminated SG2 edge, with a sexy lamination line running on both sides. The finish is a bead blasted satin and is adorned with matte black angled thumb studs. The angle on the studs is perfectly set for the AO action. Needless to say, the knife is shaving sharp along it's entire edge.

Other than to say that the action of the knife is smooth and positive, I am not going to add anything to STR's excellent review. I will say however, that this knife is too good not to use, so it has now bumped my Avalanche as my EDC.

Well done Ken and Kershaw! Thanks for another great knife.

Nice review! I have a regular production Blur and it is one of my favorites as well. The one you have is very nice looking.

Thanks for the review. I have the Blur SV30, which is an AWESOME knife. I may have to get this one as well.

I sure like mine. Nice review. Short and sweet unlike my book length review of the knife. :D

Oh yeah! Almost forgot. You guys can see what I did to mine just yesterday and the day before trying to figure out if it was possible during a lull in work load. I posted it over on my forum and put a link in the Kershaw one in a thread I started.

I just love this blade steel. Wonderful edge keeping steel here. I also agree that this has to be the most comfortable folder in heavy use that I've ever handled.

Not a bad word against the SG2 yet. I guess I'll have to break down and get one, even without the flipper.

Come on with Shallots ands Tyrades already! :)

Thanks all for the positive feedback. :)

@ Varg Lobos - If you like S30V, you will love SG2! Come to think of it, now I need one in S30V. ;)

@ Steve - Brilliant work on the Blur frame lock! (Also brilliant work on that Native - I may have to send you one for some G-10 goodness.)

@ Jeremy - You know that you won't be able to rest knowing that an SG2 Blur is not in your hands. :D

I also agree with your review on the Blur SG2. The line is a good one and I've had several EDC Blurs but there is something special about the SG2 blur IMO. I still love the way Kershaw is moving. The constant evolvement of the blur line is kind of illustrative of Kershaw as an entity to this knifeknut anyway. Joe

I agree completely, Joe. Kershaw seems to lead the others with innovation and consistent quality. Don't get me wrong, as I still like my Bucks and Spydercos, but it seems that whenever I reach into my right pocket, there is a Kershaw present.
