First, I gotta say that I love this knife. However, I have a question about where the liner lock engages the blade. On this particular knife it goes slightly past the mid point of the blade. Every other quality liner lock knife I have engages flush with the left side of the blade.

Is this of any concern or is it simply part of the design specifications for this particular knife? Thanks for any information, knowledge, or advice ya'll are willing to provide. :)

The liner lock going slightly past the mid-point of the blade should not be a problem, as long as the lockup is tight and there is no bladeplay.

Eventually with use, the liner might actually move even more to the far side of the blade.
But as long as it's firmly engaging the tang you're OK.

When I got a Blur the lock bar moved quite a bit in the first week, then found a sticking point and hasn't moved since. If the lock bar started out going past the middle of the tang I might be a bit worried, but if it got there after some use it should stick there for quite a while.

Either way, if the lock bar moves all the way over it should be sent in for servicing.

I have about 8 Kershaw knives all of which are either framelocks or linerlocks. For all liner locks the lock bar engages on the left side of the blade sometimes only 3/4 fully on (this means some of it sticks out). I've noticed that the harder you flick the blade open the further across it goes (with none of the lock bar sticking out).

Of all the framelocks and linerlocks I have, none of them engage with the lockbar on center or further right of the blade.

My SG2 Blur lock bar engages on the left side of the blade with none of it sticking out.
