Here is a photo of the sgian dubh (skeen du) I recently made for a retired Naval Captain. The top emblem is from his fathers uniform in WW2 (they were sterling then),the bottom emblem was from his fathers uniform button. The eagle looks left or right, depending on weather we were at war or not.Handle is african blackwood, blade stainless snake patern damascus. Yes that is a kilt he's wearing,as were the rest of the gents in the room.

Very cool. Any pictures of the whole thing? What kind of sheath does it have?

I snapped this picture last night at a formal Scottish dinner.I booked an order for a similar sgian dubh with a Naval Academy crest on the top.The blade will be the same.I'll take full photos when done. The sheath is a simple pouch sheath that covers only the blade. It sits in the sock.
