Just received this today from a certain crusty Master Sargeant. It is simply amazing. Sgt. Karka's work is very very clean. It's just ..... I don't really know how to describe it. It's like the sound of a bell ringing on a cold crisp winter morning. The workmanship is superb. I think it is a labor of love and honor on his part. I'll never part with this one. Thanks Sarge.

Oh, some stats. 15 3/4" long. Spine is .400" thick at the bolster. Weight is about 22 oz. It came with a good working convex edge. No makers marks. Scabbard is probably the finest of it's type that I have ever seen. High quality leather over wood. White metal binding with box on back for karda & chakma. Metal has high quality engraving.

Wow, what a khukuri.

Steve

WoW that is nice! I have yet to pick up one with a scabbard like this...your photo just got Uncle another sale when Im done paying for some HUGH toys

That's a really nice knife. I got one of Sgt.Karka's 15" knives as well. I really like it. Mine came with a standard scabbord, and the knife is really nicely done. I'll never part with mine either.

That is a fine khukuri and scabbord that you have.

Either shot shows the metaol strips I want to see along spine and edge of every scabbard ( under the leather ) one day. Protection against cuts.

If that khukuri is right out of the box, it's also finished very nicely; crisp lines and symmetry... Does Sgt. Karka produce the full spectrum of HI's knives, or specialize in just a few models?

Enjoy the new addition to your collection!

Dan :)

I don't think there have been enough for sale in this forum for us to answer that question yet. I don't think it will be the 'full spectrum' at any rate, but some other models wouldn't surprise me at all.

He definitely seems to be off to a good start according to the feedback of the forumites who've received his blades. Is he a kami himself, or did he learn the trade by being associated with HI for many years? Let him go to work on other models; he seems motivated to turn out quality khukuris...! :) Dan

A good man deserves a good knife, fair swap for that sweetheart of a Bura made Sirupati you sent me. And who you calling crusty? Well, reckon maybe I am, but it ain't the age, it's the mileage.

I don't mean to offend anyone when I say 'Jesus H Christ!!!' That is without doubt the most beautiful Khuk I have ever seen, its just, well, gorgeous! I don't think there is anyone on this board who could turn down another of these Sgt Karka Khuks, they are gorgeous.

Ok, I am going to leave it at that, there isn't anything I can say!

There isn't anything you can say? Well, you've said enough already. There will be a feeding frenzy the likes we've never seen thanks to those few things you could not say.

The crushed bodies and spirits of those without the Sgt's khuks will be on your head.

I guess they won't last 24 hours the next time Uncle Bill puts some of his up for sale. I'm glad everyone held out so long, so I was able to get one.

These are really nice, I hope everyone gets a chance to get one of his Khuk's. It really doesn't help this newly aquired HIKV.

Wow!!! What a khuk Sarge...
Sgt. Karka really does superb work, doesn't he?

I was able to snag one of his WWII Villager models from
Uncle, and even for a Villager, it's flawless. UB said he
was a 35yr Ghurka vet that has the khuk making skills shall
we say, down pat! ;)

I'm sure his khuks are going to be the Unicorn from now
on, for they are less frequent to come across & his quality has clearly been identified...
I'm sure that one will definitely 'speak' to you. :D :D
