Everything about this knife and related components was done exceptionally well.

One curious thing is that the knife came decently sharp with a fully convex secondary bevel. I went straight to the strop and soon enough it was good to go.

I only wish the handle were a wee bit longer, but otherwise this BBC is perfect. (And it remains to test the temper, but I expect that'll be spot on.) Should be a great fit for my son when he's older.

I love the chiruwa-style handle and the impressively meaty spine, yet it is small enough that I don't notice the weight on my belt. This knife will for sure be in my wilderness belt knife rotation alongside the Scrapyard SOD LE and the Gameskeeper (and I bet the edge-quenched BBC is tougher than the other two).

Thanks starboard for your impressions.

Sure is good to get feedback on HI blades by other folk with vastly different knife ownership than me.

Looking forward to your long term review. :)
