Beautiful knife!!! As a relative newcomer to this forum, could someone tell me the story behind Sgt. Khadka? I have read little bits and pieces from various posts and would like to learn more. One thing for sure is that he was/is a Gurkha that makes amazing knives.

The story of Sgt. Khadka is shrouded in mystery.

The Sgt. goes his own way. He doesn't mark his blades and he doesn't officially "work" for HI. His son Ram is studying to become a doctor. He sends khuks to Steve Ferguson who took over Uncle Bills commitment to help Ram with his expenses. And he makes amazing knives.

It's worth saying again- a day later- that's an amazing khukuri.

The lines... the fullers... the Khadka pommel swell. Fairly traditional bolster and no cho creep.

Thank you guys for the kind words.

I'll provide you updates after I receive the Sgt. Khadka's Tin Chirra and have chance to compare it with the 15" Tin Chirra by Vim Bhadur Kami I got last December.

Best Regards,
Ted

The Sgt. Khadka's Tin Chirra was delivered in the usual USPS Triangle box on Friday, 4/18. This is the 3rd Tin Chirra's I've got.

Comparing with the 15" Tin Chirra made by Vim Bhadur Kami, here are the differences:

1. Sgt. Khaska's handle is almost 1" longer, which seems to fit my medium+ size hand better. Please see the attached pictures.

2. Vin Bhadur's blade is slightly thicker, wilder, and heavier. Wr can consider it's more powerful.

I'm not a serious Khuk user so that I cannot provide any hand-on comparison. But from swinging both ones, I felt more confortable with Sgt. Khaka's Tin Chirra; the pointy top end of the handle of Vin Bhadur's Tin Chirra may cause too much contact with my hand during heavy choppings.

I also have an 18" Tin Chirra by Bura. I like it's beautifully done 3 fullers. Comparing all 3 of them side by side, you can tell why Bura is THE Master Kami.

I took some pictures but culd not post them here. Can someone help me?

Thanks and Best Regards,
Ted

Do you have a Photobucket account?

You could always email the pictures to me and I can post them for you. My email is ilbruche at gmail dot com.

Dragon sent me the pictures. Here they are.

I love the Tin Chirra and I REALLY love his 18" Bura. I have drooled over some of the old Tin Chirras he has done in the past. Just incredible fullers and the Sword of Shiva is amazing.

First some comparisons of the Sgt. Khadka and a Tin Chirra by Vim.
