:D Greetings! I just traded/purchased a Straight Hanled SH with hollow tube handle fasteners, standard Micarta handles, and a silver/grey spine with Busse Kydex sheath. I didn't get any box or paperwork. I was hoping that someone could provide me with some more info on this blade. I.E. Date of Manufacture, Number made in this configuration, Approximate value, etc. I do love the straight handle. Unfortunately, I had to sell my NO, trade my Basic 9 with the Busse combat Kydex sheath, give the gentleman all the cash in my wallet AND bring him $7 the next day. I'm dow What is wrong with Me?????:eek: Now I'm down to one Busse and trying to remedy the situation by get a matching BM, or a Basic 7 & 9, or a A2 mean streets. Decisions, decisions....

A Minty SH2 is worth 600.00 That's what blade art sells them for and they can't keep a hold of any. You will see them maybe go for 550.00 on the exchange cause we tend to be cheap bastards LOL. Now models with the birds beak (which if yours has brass tubes it does not have the birds beak) can go for 600.00 all the way up to 1,000.00 depending if they were a part of a special run or a variant. But you got one about like mine and it's worth around 600.00

What is a "birds beak" on a Busse knife? Is it what I have on my straight-handled A2 Steel Heart II?
 
A Bird's Beak was a particular type of pommel. In the pic above see how the pommel looks like a birds head from the side? Has the one talon hole making the eye, and the other at the tip of the "beak".
 
DD2, I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO want that knife. I'll trade ya my first born for it.

I have a Steel Heart II in A-2 with a bird beak pommel and a kydex sheath I bought in 1996. It is in good shape but the powder coating is worn off in places. What do you think it is worth now? Thanks!
 
No no no, 1whobuys is short changing you, its worth every penny of $15, and I will come pick it up :D

Actually its probably worth quite a bit even if the coating is worn off. I haven't been watching the SHII prices that closely, but some other people on here can probably give you a close estimate.
