This lovely open-backed Shabaria arrived yesterday. I bought it from a member of another board. I love the distinctiveness and feel of this knife, although I haven't really done much with it yet, other than play with it. I also wanted it especially because of its history and that of its designer, Israeli knifemaker Eduard Bradichansky, who was killed in a terrorist attack.

A fav of mine. Makes for an interesting "Pikal" blade - the handle works well in reverse-edge-in.

I thought it was a bit weird looking the first time that I saw this knife but, in a way my "Persian" was too. Then, as I saw pictures of the "Persian" from time to time, it started growing on me. So, I had to buy one. Today its one of my favorite knives. I probaby get it out to admire and play with more than any other. It's also the one I always pull out to show.

Already this Shabaria is growning on me. I like a knife that has some history or a story behind it. I am going to have to find one of these. I would like to own the entire Spyderco ethnic family.

By the way, those are outstanding pictures.

I would have to agree that the quality of the photographs shown here have indeed made the Shab even that more appealing to me. What a fantastic bunch of photos, what a knife! I am just sorry I wasn't able to get a hold of one then and boy, am I in deep sorrow now.
Perhaps Sal could take a look at having a modified fixed blade version in no time soon? I would just love to see a double edge s-curve on that one. Shalom.
