shabaria?

I got one in a trade some time ago and have to say that it is definitely a conversation starter. Hour glass shaped Micarta handles, VG-10 steel, solid linerlock...all combine great together in this Spydie custom collaboration. I don't use mine too much since it's serial numbered, it only comes out on special occasions. :D

I'm planning on getting a newer version that I can carry for occasional EDC rotation.

how is the lockup! it would seem that with such a thin profile for the center of the handle that the liner lock would thin, maybe weak is that so?
 
The lockup is solid, with no blade play whatsoever. Another perk that I love about the Shabaria is the dual steel liners, I like that added weight in the handle. ;)
 
i just bought one not too long ago.. it is a beautiful knife. the finish and fit of the knife s very solid. due to the shape of the handle, the liner lock where it meets the blade tang is really big, so i dont think it will ever wear down too much. that's a good thing. it feels ok in my hand, i wouldnt' say its the most comfortable knife.. the hollowed out top part feels funny, but its not too bad. the micarta is really nice.. sort of a sanded down look unlike the Viele.

I'm really happy with mine, though i wouldn't really use it.. like dood say before, mine is a conversation peice, even tho mine isn't numbered :(

but i recommend if ur a spydiefan
 
Thought I'd add my feelings. It's one of the most comfortable folders I have and definitely the least heavy of it's size due to the slim handle. It takes a little getting used to for the handle design but it is extremely secure. Lock up is perfect with no side to side play. Get one you won't be disappointed and if you are just sell it to KBR.
