Shadow IV or Mark VI

I have the opportunity to pick up a Shadow IV or a Mark VI. Both are brand new and dated April 2010.

I would like some help choosing one of the two please. Both are 5.5in with double guard. Only real difference between the two is the blade tip with the Shadow being a spear point while the Mark 6 has a clip point.

I won't be using it and it's purely for collecting. What I'd like to know please is which one of the two is more collectible and original and which would you buy for your collection? I've been leaning more towards the Shadow as I already have a large clip point Jereboam Mk II and thought the Shadow' smaller spear-point blade would compliment the Jeraboa nicely. Advice appreciated. GD.

Hi. You won't make mistake with any of those two. I had both knives and I kept MKVI, because it fits better my needs. I also like the clip-point more from aesthetic view - the top line doesn't "fall down" towards the tip like on the spear-point.
I would prefer it even for the collection purpose, since it carries the original design continuing from the whole beginning of the one-piece line. But regarding you already have one clip-point... it surely makes sense to have different blade style.

Thanks oldrich. So is the clip point the original blade style for the one piece series? I wish I could buy both!

I believe it is. I think I've read it somewhere but can't remember where. Maybe on the CRK web. Anyway, I hope you'll be satisfied! Have a nice day,
Oldřich
PS: I've just found a note about the originality of CRK clip-pointed knives. See the picture with Mark IV.
