Shadow IV

Well, I saw the other thread on the Shadow III, and had questions on the Shadow IV. I just bought one on NGK, and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow, shortly before I get back from work. Anyway, the IV is the one with the 5.5 inch blade, correct? NGK, I think has their info backwards for the three and four. What do you all think about using this as an EDC woods knife? I know I've had the larger Project One at one time and loved it, but it was just a little big for my tastes as a backwoods belt mounted EDC.

Yep. Your right. The Shadow IV is a 5.5" blade. Excellent knife. I'm certain you'll be happy to use it daily as your woods knife. I went with the Mountain II. One of the best knives I have ever used.

Thanks for the confirmation. The mountaineer II is basically the same size but it has a clip point right? I looked at that one as well, but I'm more a fan of spearpoints. Just my preference.

Right again....While the speer point will be stronger, don't sell the clip point short. It's pretty stout as well. I'm not one of those guys who just has to see how far a knife can be pushed before breaking. I don't ever see me doing anything with my Mtn II that would break its tip. If I did, I'm sure the condition of my knife would be the last thing on my mind.
