Good evening everyone, I just bought a bead blasted shallot yesterday and have a couple of questions, 1. It's been a while since I've carried/used a bead blasted blade, what's the best way to get surface rust off(had to do that today hoppes #9 and a bronze brush worked wonderfully and did not mar the finish) and what's a good way to keep it from rusting in the future,
2. How do you carry yours? Mines currently in appendix inside the waist band like I've seen LEO instructors do since my right front pocket is blocked by a holster and I can deploy it with either hand
3 how often if ever should I break it down and lube it up,
4 any tips or tricks with this knife that can be shared would be appreciated
Thank you for your time
Joe

I scotchbrite most of my bead blasted blades. It does change the look of the blade, but it stops the rust spots.

I sanded the blade on my old 13c26 Shallot, took it up to 2000 grit. But it shows every little blemish now. Cut cardboard=small scratches.

I use barkeepers friend on a rag on my skylines (same steel and finish) and all of my other knives as well works wonders. Then I treat it with oil 2-3 times a week for 2 weeks and do that every 3-6 months. I also take it apart and use a dry lube on the pivot as it won't be a dust and dirt magnet.
