I am looking at picking up some aftermarket scales for my Shaman. Love the knife and there is really nothing wrong with the OEM scales I just like a little more grip. I think I am settled on the RGT but can't decide on the material between canvas, burlap or the terotuf.

Any thoughts on the material and the skinny scales from RGT.

I put a set of sharp dressed knife green canvas micarta scales on my Gayle Bradley 2 and couldn’t be happier

I have one of those on my ZT 0562 and it is very nice. All the micarta scales they make for the shaman seem to be out of stock.

Yep. I just emailed him yesterday about it and he said he has no idea when he'll make more, but suggested I click the link on the item page to be notified when back in stock.

Well I decided to go with the SDK scales for the Shaman since I was happy with the one on my ZT. Could not be happier.

Fireside did mine and I'm very happy with feel, fit and finish of it. They had very nice discount around Christmas last year and scales came fairly inexpensive.
Owner is very easy to communicate with, nice guy, you can contact him on Instagram.

How do you like that "slim" versus the normal/OEM style?
They feel great in the hand. Choking up is a little more comfortable. That being said the ergos on the Shaman are great to start with and these slim scales just remove the finger groove or bump in the middle. The texture is what I was going to improve and they do. Perfect amount of grip.

I have fairly large hands (L/XL glove size) and I find the stock G10 Shaman fits my hands just fine.
When I saw that there are "slim" handles out there I immediately thought I don't want those, but right now if I want to buy SDK micarta scales they are out of stock (brown canvas). Only the slim version is available.

Are they a thinner stack than stock scales? Or is it just that one ergo hump/groove that's deleted?
