Shaping a Buck Strider Handle

Hi folks,

What grit of sandpaper will work best to shape and smooth the G-10 handles on a Buck Strider folder? I don't think I want to use any power tools, I always get to aggressive and over-do my intended task. Also, any methods that work better than others when doing this by hand? I have never worked on G-10.

Cant help ya much on the grit to use but if I remember correctly g10 is hazardous when sanded...Ventilation and a mask

400 grit paper will get g10 smooth. if you buff after 400 grit paper, you get shiny and very smooth. Start with 400 grit and if that is going too slow, step back to 320 grit.

And yes, be very careful sanding g10. You don't want to breathe in that stuff.
