Hello,

I'm new to waterstones, and I was thinking of getting a shapton pro 1k. I already own a king 1k, but I can get a better edge with my fine India stone. As far as realation between the king and shapton, I've heard that the shapton are relatively finer even at the same grit. In US grit what would a shapton 1K compare to? Or what grit oil or diamond stone would the shapton 1k compare to?

Hello
I'm curious, when you're in final part of sharpening on king, are you using edge leading or edge trailing ?
Are you letting the stone go dry at that point?
Do you microbevel?

I don't know how it compares to the King 1K but the Shapton Pro 1K was quite a bit coarser then the Chosera 1K.

Shapton stones are rated in Mesh like diamond hones. They are often considered coarser than other waterstones.
