I recently managed to trade up to a sterile AMS with black coating and black canvas scales. I am curious about the history of this little blade, it really is the perfect size for EDC and is very easy to conceal when necessary. I have only seen a handful of the sterile AMS's, if anyone knows how many were made I would love to know. This one just may be the perfect utility FB for my use, I am VERY attached to it already!

Man great score. The AMS is a great little edc blade. I am sure it will serve you well for years to come.

As far as it being sterile, could very well have been ordered that way or perhaps it went to someone who in their line of work can not have markings on their gear.

Thanks Garth! It really is an excellent little knife, I thinned out the edge last night and it will cleanly slice paper towel now!

Yes I believe in the very first ofering you could order them with "Busse" the "Busse 25th Aniv" Motif or sterile.

Yup. I ordered it that way

Congrats on your score. I ordered a sterile one when they were first released. It is almost impossible to see but Busse is on the middle knife:

Nice one!
I get mine back this week. I think Garth did this one up for me. Thanks, Garth.

These are awesome edc's....I whipped up some kydex neck sheaths for the ones I took to Hawaii as presents and they worked out nicely while we were out on the boat fishing.
My first thoughts were about the saltwater they would see but after each use just a quick wipe and at the end of the day a light oil wipe and no signs of corrosion on any of the blades.
They are super quick handling and plenty sharp for rigging heavy line for tuna (spyderwire and 80lb mono leaders) and hanging on the neck for quick deployment I can't say enough about
these blades....Thanx Jerry and Busse Crew...

Congrats on a great EDC! The AMS is a wonderful knife and will handle everything that you throw its way.
