I have seen some great lanyards and fobs here and there on the site. I have yet to make or purchase any, but I'd like to see what everyone else has done and where you purchased them if possible... just for ideas. Thanks!

I have a few...but I made them. Its a lot cheaper to buy the paracord, and make your various lanyards, fobs, etc..... It also gives you more satisfaction. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of my own stuff.

But, I have made:
a king cobra "survival bracelet" (black)
a square sinnet weave fob that was attached to my SAK (black and orange)
a round sinnet weave key fob/keychain, that has a piece of ferrocerium inside of it (black and orange)
a couple of cobra weave key fobs/keychains (black and orange)

Nice! Do you know of any website or books that show how to make them? and where do you get the different color cord?

youtube has alot of videos...or just google "paracord projects". Also, check out e-how.com and instructables.com for instructions to make stuff.

you can buy different color cord from....
countycomm.com
gr8gear.com
ebay.com
amazon.com
and many other websites.

Just remember; google is your friend.

instructables.com, ehow.com, and hackaday or lifehacker or whaterver......those type of sites have step-by-step tutorials w/ pictures that make it easy. You can also check other sub-forums (embellishments?) for people's pictures to get ideas.

If you have a local Cabela's you can get some olive drab paracord. If you have a local army surplus/supply store, you can get some basic colors to get you started. I ordered a bunch of different colors online.

You can buy a 1000' roll for around $35 at cheaperthandirt.com I believe. Not alot of color selection, though.

Also, the quality will vary. Some have 7 cords that are all white thread-style cords. The 'GOOD' ones will have a metal filament as one of the cords and a couple others that are different than the standard cord. For a survival situation, I'd prefer to have the real quality stuff. For simple lanyards, it doesn't really matter.

I do the lanyards and the bracelets:

And I always have a bracelet on, and a lanyard on my knife, b/c ya' never know. . . .

I'm going to take pix this weekend. . . .

check out, Tying It All Together's Youtube page. A ton of different Paracord video's. Very nicely done as well. Easy to follow.

Tony.

I also tie bracelets, lanyards for folders as wells as wrist lanyards for fixed blades, key-chains and very unique monkey's fists.

All should be for sale fairly soon (if all works out) at my favorite local knife shop that also carries ESEE. They will be available online at that shop.

(The shop has all my prototypes so I can't post pictures right now, sorry.)
