So I know you may be wondering how this relates to "Shark Fishing with a Busse". Well, sorry for the lack of photos (hard to chop and take pics at the same time). The bait being cut above was not the easiest thing in the world to cut with the bait knife. When I had to pull out a frozen fish about four times the size it just would not cut through it. Out came the CG ASH1. Let me say the fish never had a chance.

My brother and I had our ASH's out on the water and put to use the entire week. Rust? Just a little by the butt of the knife. Surprisingly no more then my Boker Orca had after a few dives. It rubbed right off with some polish. I was very impressed. Especially since we had no fresh water to clean it with until hours after use.

BTW, we caught 7 sharks all over 6 feet in length that day. A nurse shark, three lemon sharks and three bull sharks. It is bull shark research. Next it is off to Australia for the tiger sharks out of Shark Bay. You can bet my Busse will be with me.

Awesome photo's!

Thanks for sharing, and be sure and look up some Downunder Razorbacks while in Australia!;):D They are elusive but we do exist!;)

Thanks and I will do that.

That's awesome! I want your job.

It is my brother's job and tell me about it!!!!

Atleast I get the pleasure of visiting him.

I am planning on three weeks to a month when I visit him in Australia. Lucky sucker lives on the beach in Hallandale for six months and Australia for the other six. Tough life huh!

Those are really good photographs. What kind of research are you (or your brother) doing?

Excellent thread, great pics!

Can a PADI Advanced and Night Certified join you sometime?

Cool photos. Thanks.

I am fairly certain that I can sum this up but I am going to qoute my brother on this as soon as he gets a chance to email me. I have the basics but I don't want to dumb it down:D

cgAsh1 is great too:D

Yeah, I love that CGASH1. It is becoming my buddy.

Cool pictures.

What does the needle do?

The needle is used to extract blood. They put the blood in a centrifuge and seperate the plasma from the cells. Then its off to the laboratory.

I am sure you could. You would have to check with the Captain (my brother). If you are serious then I could put you in contact with him and he will let you know. I think it is somewhat difficult to get out with them though. It never hurts to ask. They are a friendly group but there are formalities.

He mainly does research in Shark Bay, Western Australia, on seagrass ecosystem communities and works on everything from seagrass to sharks.

This was the short of it. Getting detailed can be a timely task.

A new updated website of what they do should be up in around a month’s time @ www.sberp.org

Shark Bay Ecosystem Research Project (SBERP) through Florida International University. There is a website now but it is out of date.

Here is a picture of the Busse that did most of the work. No point in taking a new picture because it doesn’t look any different :D

Serious about the desire, it's my time that probably wouldn't permit it if he would allow it. It would be great to log one or two with such a group. Drop me a PM and let me know if there are any other websites to monitor about his/your work and your e-mail address if you don't mind.

Keep up the good work and thanks for the story and pics!
