My skills are improving! I tried to keep the "shoulder" to a minimum, and let it be nearly a zero-edge saber-to-convex grind.

I stripped it on my 1x42 belt sander with a scotchbright belt, then used various sandpaper grits to sharpen and polish.
What was the final grit used to polish?

Just 1000, then leather and polishing compound.
