I have an old, beat up, sharp brand lockback knife. Sharp is K-Mart’s brand knife, made in Japan. I believe this knife is late-80s to early 90s vintage. It is nearly the same knife as the early-2000s Dicks Sporing Goods chinese Winchester lockbacks, except with what look like oak grips. Anyone know what steel Japan-made Sharp knives are? At least one search here indicated 440C. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Can you post a photo? If not, all Sharp knives made in Japan have the model number stamped on the ricasso.
Most Sharp knives were Aus8, although some folders may have been Aus6.
